In
a hot, stank skid row bar many years ago a guy walked
up to another guy and said “ Do you wanna be
in my Country Band?” The other guy thought a
guitar player was needed and said “ Sure”.
An
hour later First Guy walks back up to Second Guy and
says “ You can sing, can’t you?”
Second
Guy says “ No, but it never stopped me before”.
So, now Second Guy is the singer and the
guitar player. Okay.
Late,
late in the evening as things wound down and the last
sodden lumps of the last of the customers were being
dragged out onto the sidewalk- gently, it was a friendly
place- First Guy staggers over to Second Guy and says
“ Got any Country Songs?”
“
One. But we can come up with more.”
That
was way back at the Turn of the Century. It took some
doing and it took some time and it took some people
who came and went (TexAss, 12
Midnite, Mr.
Plow) but finally, in the Summer of 05
the boys were good to go with Brad
and Mike
being joined by Dusty
Doug on the bass and Adam X on drums. After sixish
months, Adam smartened up and went off to find better
things to do with his time and was replaced by the
one and only and very, very mighty Gunthar.
Since
then the Dogs have played in such exotic cities as
Vancouver BC and, uhh... Victoria BC; done some recording
(first album coming soon™!); had some
quality
t-shirts and buttons made; and been referred
to as "potential future Vancouver legends"
in very tiny print near the back of an issue of the
Georgia Straight.
The
'legend' is growing...
Stay
tuned!
